Thank you for using BareGPS Scotland.
BareGPS Scotland helps you explore and log hills, record and import GPX tracks, navigate to hills or saved waypoints, and cache supported map layers for use where signal is limited.

Check iPhone Settings and make sure BareGPS Scotland has location permission if current-position, GPX recording, or navigation features are not working. For GPX recording during a locked-screen walk, keep location access enabled and test recording before relying on it outdoors.
In Settings, use Coordinate Display to choose how positions and waypoint coordinates are shown. The app can display British National Grid, Lat/Long, MGRS, or UTM. This changes labels in the app only; GPX files still store track points using latitude and longitude.
If map tiles do not load, check your data connection and try switching map layers. Offline cache availability depends on the selected layer; caching is intended for supported map layers and for areas cached successfully before you lost signal.
